ULVERSTON INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL 26th June – 1st July 2012
In this Diamond Jubilee Year, we take the opportunity to celebrate the best of Britain and its youth. Look out for “Queen” and the “Beatles”, the country’s most cherished clarinettist Emma Johnson MBE, local young talent, the most gifted graduates from London’s colleges, the Manchester Camerata, jazz pianist Benet McLean, medieval group Joglaresa and pianist Sam Haywood, a Cumbrian who has hit the headlines internationally in recent years.
In the spirit of the Olympics we welcome a golden array of talent from around the world including Romanian rising start Alexandra Dariescu, Bulgarian cellist Michael Petrov, Russian soprano Anna Gorbachyova, Argentinian bandoneonist Eduardo Garcia and American saxophonist Jason Yarde. Brahms and Mozart are both in the running for composer of the Festival, but whatever the concert or composer we/re sure you’ll find a winner!
