The Charter Festival is a celebration of the granting of the Market Charter in 1280 by Edward 1

The aim of the festival is to provide entertainment by local people. All proceeds collected during the festival go towards the Mayor’s Charity Fund which is distributed at the end of the Mayoral year.

The main Charter Festival Events are:

Camra Charter Beer Festival Thursday 5th – Saturday 7th September 2013
80 Real Ales + 20 Ciders/Perries
Thursday 6.00 – 11.00pm £2 Friday 12.00 – 11.00pm £2 (£3 after 7pm)
Saturday 12.00 – 10.00pm £2 – FREE at all times to Camra members
Souvenir Galss £2 (sale or return)
Entertainment: Friday Sidecar’s 50’s Rock and Roll – Saturday – Various Local Artists

Ulverston Super Saturday Markets – Saturday 7th September 2013
All day parking is £1.20

Ulverston Lantern Festival
Saturday September 14th 2013 from 7.45pm

Theme “Bringing to Market”
Four rivers of light will flow into the town centre and cascade towards Ford Park for the finale.
Start times from 7.45pm to merge in County Square at 8.30pm

Lantern Making Workshops
Ford Park House – 7th to 13 Spetember 2013 – Three sessions each day – morning, lunch and evening
